Leading National Marijuana Law Firm to Open Office in Jacksonville, Expand Florida Operations

Vicente Sederberg LLC, one of the nation's leading marijuana law firms, announced Thursday it is opening an office in Jacksonville and plans to expand its Florida operations.

VS has helped shape cannabis and hemp laws and policies in the U.S. and abroad, servicing clients and advising government officials throughout the country and around the world. It has helped clients secure cannabis business licenses in a dozen states, including Florida, where it guided one of the recipients of the state’s five original medical marijuana treatment center licenses.

“The marijuana policy and business landscapes are evolving quickly in the U.S. and especially in Florida,” said founding partner Brian Vicente. "The expansion of the state's tightly regulated medical cannabis program is not only fueling demand and supply, but also innovation. Vicente Sederberg has been at the forefront of these developing markets for nearly a decade, advising businesses, guiding policymakers, and building a viable and responsible industry.

"Our new Jacksonville office will allow us to expand our service offerings to our existing Florida clients and develop relationships with the many entrepreneurs and investors seeking opportunities in the state's burgeoning medical cannabis and hemp industries."

VS is headquartered in Denver and also has offices in Boston, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. Its primary practice areas include business and corporate law; state and local licensing; regulatory compliance; administrative law; tax law; government and policy services; and research and analysis.

The Jacksonville office will be located inside the Stein Mart building at 1200 Riverplace Blvd., and it will be led by partner Sally Kent Peebles, a Jacksonville native and graduate of Florida State University College of Law.

"Florida's medical cannabis policies have undergone dramatic changes over the past 12 months, and there are certainly more to come," Kent Peebles said. "We are here to help people navigate these new and complex laws to ensure they are operating legally and responsibly. Vicente Sederberg is committed to being a thoughtful and productive member of the community, and we strive to foster the same commitment among our clients."

VS is sponsoring the National Cannabis Industry Association's Quarterly Cannabis Caucus in Tampa on April 17. It will also have a presence at North East Florida NORML's 420 on the Beach event in Jacksonville Beach on April 20.
