Firm Update: Sederberg Transitioning Roles to Focus More Time on Policy and Advocacy

After spending 12 years building Vicente Sederberg into the country’s top-ranked cannabis law firm, Christian Sederberg has decided to leave his role as partner at VS so he can focus more of his time on policy work and advocacy. He will remain at the firm as special counsel and continue his work with its policy and public affairs consulting affiliate, VS Strategies, while also exploring new opportunities in cannabis, psychedelics, and other areas.
As a result of this change, we will be shortening the law firm’s name to Vicente LLP in February 2023. The firm is also making operational changes to position it to scale for the growing cannabis industry across the country and expanded work on psychedelics and other regulated substances. We are poised to bring on new board members, promote new partners, and elevate lawyers into practice leadership positions. We also recently hired our first chief operating officer, legal industry veteran Dan DiResta, who will work with the partners to support our 80-plus team members across eight offices around the country.
We appreciate the care that has gone into Christian’s decision, and we’re incredibly grateful to him for the more than a decade he dedicated to us as a partner, leader, and visionary. His contributions to the firm — its mission, our people, our culture, and our values — helped make us who we are today. We’re glad he will remain our colleague, and we look forward to working with him in his new capacity, as well as to supporting his continued efforts at VS Strategies. Christian and all the partners at the firm are extremely excited about the future and optimistic about the impact we will continue to have.
