Big News from the Lone Star State: Vicente Sederberg LLP Establishes Texas Office
Mar 12, 2020
Vicente Sederberg LLP has deep roots in the Lone Star State, where members of the firm have been working hard for many for years to shape cannabis policy reform, beginning with VS Senior Policy Analyst Dwight Clark’s instrumental work alongside Senator José Menendez on the passage of Texas’s medical cannabis program in 2015. Partner and VS Hemp & Cannabinoids Department Chair Shawn Hauser is a native Texan and led the VS team in playing a key role in the passage of House Bill 1325, which legalized and regulated hemp production in Texas. VS continues to support the implementation of the state’s hemp program, which positions Texas to be one of the leading hemp producers in the nation.
Now, we’re formalizing our dedication to Texas by establishing an office in Austin! This commitment, coupled with our experience working in other states on the leading edge of cannabis law reform, will allow us to do our part in helping the Lone Star State reach its potential as a major market for hemp and cannabis.
VS is very excited to now have our cowboy boots on the ground in Austin’s Barton Springs neighborhood, where meetings with VS attorneys are available by appointment only. Through this new location, along with our offices in Boston, Denver, Jacksonville, Los Angeles and New York, we’ll provide unparalleled knowledge and service to clients and policymakers, and work to shape policies that advance the legal cannabis industry through dynamic and responsible reform.
The Texas Department of Agriculture will likely open the hemp growing permit application process the week of March 16, 2020. If you’d like to apply, VS is ready to support you! Please contact our team by calling 303-860-4501 or send an email to M.McDonald@VicenteSederberg.com.
